CPSIA - Certificates of Conformance

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (“CPSIA”) requires that importers and domestic manufacturers of certain products manufactured after February 10, 2010 to certify that their products comply with all applicable rules, bans, standards, and regulations administered by the Consumer Protection Safety Commission (“CPSC”).

Because certain drugs are required by a CPSC regulation to be in child-resistant packaging by the Poison Prevention Act (“PPPA”), the importer or domestic manufacturer that packages the drug must issue a Certificate of Conformity with the special packaging requirements of the PPPA.  These certificates can be furnished by electronic means.

Rest assured that Actavis utilizes child-resistant, senior-friendly components to package its drug products that are covered by the PPPA.  The data supporting conformance with the PPPA were generated in accordance with the procedures under 16 C.F.R. § 1700.20 and serves as the basis for each Actavis Certificate of Conformance.

If you have any questions regarding this certification program, please contact The Medical Affairs phone number at     1-800-432-8534.

To access the applicable Certificate of Conformance, please select the appropriate product and then select the appropriate NDC number.
